NPI - Technology

Our chemists and technical experts have considerable experience in developing and refining our products. If you are interested in the technology behind the product, here is a sample of what we use in our laboratories:

Minolta Colorimeter: Makes accurate color measurement possible using numerical values for hue, lightness and saturation. Colorimeters also have sensitivities that correspond to those of the human eye. Because they always take measurements using the same light source and illumination, the measurement conditions will be the same regardless of whether it is day or night, indoors or outdoors.

Q-U-V Accelerated Weathering Tester: The Weatherometer reproduces weather in the laboratory by stimulating the effects of sunlight and condensation at elevated temperatures that helps us determine if the material will chalk, fade, haze, crack or peel or if the material will retain a reasonable percentage of its original appearance and physical properties.

Erichsen Glossmeter: Determines an accurate measurement range from mirror to matt finish. Gloss is a quantity that expresses the degree of reflection when light strikes a surface.

Dual Speed Bi-Cycle Drying Time Recorder: Measures and records the drying times of all types of coatings with the use of two synchronous motors mounted on an external drive train with a teflon shaft arm ball scriber, allowing for continuous specification performance and monitoring.

Gel Timers: Determines the gel time of resinous materials through the use of a low torque synchronous motor incorporating a specially shaped stirrer. As gelation occurs, drag exceeds torque and the motor stops the timing mechanism recording the gel time therefore permitting product reproducibility through the monitoring process.
